  My partner and I have been to the Hobart Myer Menswear department twice in the past couple of months. Once to get my partner a new suit and the second time because he needed a few new business shirts for his new job. On both occasions we spent at least 30 minutes in the department, browsing and my partner tried on several items. Not once were we approached to see if we needed assistance. Apparently our custome isn't worth the attention of the sales staff.
  
  After recieving no help, we decided to buy a suit from Lesles accross the street, a suit outfitters that understand the value of good service. We only brought the business shirts because myers mid year markdowns are so competitive.

  Went in yesterday 18/6, Myer Hobart, and picked out a linen jacket, just not in my size. Lady who served me was polite and helpful, but suggested I go down one floor to the customer hub, to see if they had my size in another store. This is apparently the role of aforementioned hub. So I wander down, stand at desk and wait. Another lady eventually wanders over and asks am I being served. If so, we've now entered the age of telepathic service. I answer no, but explained that the pleasant lady upstairs sent me down. She looked at me, paused and then asked me the pertinent question.....why did she send you down to me. I know what your thinking. Could you have possibly asked.....how can I help you? Oh no!! Why not waste my time by asking why I'm wasting more of my time coming down to check. So, instead of explaining myself, again, I left the jacket on the desk and left. Said customer device hub lady can waste her own time, in what little she has left in it, once Amazon gets here. And we wonder why retail in Australia is as dead a fried chicken. And it's no doubt on your in store cameras, so do yourself a favour and look it up.
